About the fabric
Viscose is a type of rayon. Originally known as artificial silk. The name “viscose” derived from the way this fibre is manufactured, a viscous organic liquid. Viscose is a regenerated manufactured fibre, made from cellulose.
Viscose is made from wood pulp, making it a cellulosic fibre, like cotton or linen.
Because viscose is made from cellulose, it is in a way more sustainable then for example synthetic fibres, although normally the processes to make it requires a lot of chemicals.
However, viscose is increasingly being manufactured using the lyocell process that is far more eco-friendly.
Our viscose fabric is Deadstock material, meaning that regardless the process behind it, it is a sustainable option.
Deadstock fabric is the leftover fabric of other fashion brands or factories.
